Myanmar Women produced a spirited all-round performance to defeat Kuwait Women by 20 runs in the 2nd WT20I in Kuala Lumpur, leveling the bilateral series 1-1.

Asked to Bat first by Kuwait, Myanmar suffered an early setback when Khin Min Myat was dismissed off the first ball of the innings by Maria Jasvi. However, Theint Theint Soe (15) and Thel Thel Aung (20) helped stabilize the innings before Zon Li anchored the batting effort with an unbeaten 49 from 51 deliveries. Supported by Moe Ei Phyu’s 11, Myanmar posted a competitive total of 112/5 in their 20 overs.


Kuwait’s bowlers worked hard to keep the scoring under control, with Candice Dias delivering an outstanding spell of 2/11 from four overs. Maria Jasvi also struck early, while Kuwait's fielders contributed with two run-outs. In reply, Kuwait were well placed thanks to a solid opening partnership between Priyada Murali and Zeefa Jilani. Priyada top-scored with 39 off 46 balls, while Zeefa added 21 as the pair put on 64 runs for the first wicket.


However, Myanmar fought back strongly after the breakthrough, applying pressure through disciplined bowling and sharp fielding. Pan Ei Phyu led the charge with an excellent spell of 2/11 from four overs, while Wathon Nadi, Zarli Win and Theint Theint Soe chipped in with a wicket each. Kuwait lost wickets at regular intervals and were unable to build another substantial partnership, eventually finishing on 92/7 from their 20 overs. With a valuable unbeaten 49 from Zon Li and a clinical bowling display led by Pan Ei Phyu, Myanmar Women secured a deserved 20-run victory to level the WT20I series 1-1.
