GEZE Solutions for Transport Technology

On Water, On Land and In the Air. Diversity from a Single Source

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 9 April 2019, (AETOSWire): GEZE has for many decades been a reliable partner for customized, high quality transport technology solutions – from cruise ships and trains, to transporters and aeroplanes. What began with fittings for the 'Graf Zeppelin' airship and in German National Railway trains, today continues in state-of-the-art transport technology solutions.

“Depending on the customer’s wishes, it is possible to realize individual special solutions from the areas of door, window and safety technology as well as automatic door systems. Not only do these increase comfort for passengers and staff on water, land and air routes, they also increase safety.” Declared Charles Constantin, Managing Director of GEZE Middle East.

On water: the 'feel-good factor' on board. Solutions for shipbuilding

Whether for large seagoing or smaller river cruise ships, or even private yachts: GEZE solutions for modern shipbuilding ensure comfort, safety and aesthetics on board. We supply highly corrosion-resistant materials, making them optimum for use in sea water and sea air.

GEZE automatic swing and sliding door solutions allow passengers on cruise ships or private boats to move barrier-free and comfortably from room to room. Staff are also able to serve hygienically and without obstacles – for example between the kitchen and dining room. Manual swing doors create an attractive and individual touch on small boat units in particular. Where light-drenched areas are preferred, fanlights with electrical window drives ensure a light, welcoming atmosphere, for example in the swimming pool or wellness area.

GEZE door closers, unobtrusively integrated in the door leaf, ensure safety of the cabin door by enclosing the source of danger in the event of fire. At the same time, reliable closing of inside and external ship doors prevents heat loss and draughts. GEZE door dampers ensure comfort in the cabin, they stop doors gently, close them silently and keep them open with ease if needed.

Custom-fit GEZE solutions such as automated balcony sliding doors can also be individually retrofitted completely in accordance with customer requirements. For people with restricted mobility, automatic swing door drives on cabin and WC doors provide barrier-free access.

On land: Get there safely and comfortably. Solutions for rail traffic

An advantage for passengers or commuters who favor rail travel: no waiting in traffic. Manual and automatic door solutions also ensure added comfort on trains and railways.

The number of people needing to be carried quickly and safely by public transport, particularly in urban centers, is increasing year on year. GEZE glass partitioning walls with automatic sliding door systems ensure optimum safety on the platform when trains are coming in. These door systems are locked electrically, and can also be unlocked manually in emergency situations. Particularly for future driverless public transport systems, these automated systems provide an additional safety factor.

The same is true of funicular railway stations. To ensure passenger access to the funicular is safe and ordered, automatic sliding doors provide reliable opening and closing – completely in line with requirements. Increased passenger safety allows trains to enter the station or access area more quickly. This reduces the waiting time for passengers on board.

GEZE door systems also ensure comfortable movement within a rail vehicle. Whether an automatic sliding door or a manual swing door: GEZE solutions impress with their high level of barrier-free passenger comfort, minimum installation space requirements and reliable opening and closing. These special constructions, fully in line with customer requirements, can be adapted to the particular need.

Solutions for the transport industry

For parcel and transport services, the greatest possible efficiency and optimum security are critical factors. GEZE offers a range of intelligent products for utility vehicles, for example to facilitate access from the driver's cabin to the cargo area.

A common adage in the transport industry is: time is money. A parcel service driver being able to get to the inside of the vehicle quickly and easily from the driver's cabin without the hassle of getting out can yield a valuable time saving.

This is why GEZE offers practical sliding door solutions for transport vehicles. Where the security aspect is paramount

– with money transporters for example – customized door solutions with optional access control ensure optimum protection of the driver and his load.

In the air: special doors for the challenges of aeroplanes. Solutions for aircraft

Different aircraft types pose varying challenges with respect to modern door technology. And yet, whether we're talking about large passenger and cargo planes or private jets: the emphasis is always on safe and comfortable solutions that can be customized to the circumstances.

At the beginning of the century, the skies were dominated by Graf Zeppelin and his airships. Even then, GEZE was building a suitable solution: special aluminium cabin sill track designs. GEZE's customized door systems continue to offer greater comfort and safety in today's modern aircraft. For example by separating the baggage hold: special solutions from the area of automatic sliding doors, for mostly small doorways, ensure baggage is locked away safely, without moving around. Access control solutions on connecting doors prevent unauthorized access to the cockpit.

Customized manual swing doors in, for example, private aircraft, provide comfortable doorways that are smooth and aesthetically fitting. Automatic swing door drives facilitate the way to the aircraft or private jet via a gangway.

Creative freedom with specialized solutions

With GEZE Customer Solutions, customers benefit from sophisticated, customized and special solutions, which offer the best-possible safety and comfort. GEZE experts develop these in precise alignment with the customer’s wishes. And all this from a single source.

A central contact person is available for all questions from the initial idea right up to commissioning. Irrespective of whether the questions refer to technical traffic applications, special building requirements, or solutions for machines and systems. GEZE customized solutions provide everything you need.

Customer support from A to Z

Regular servicing is essential for long-lasting, faultless functionality, longevity and the retention of value for door, window and safety systems. Customized service solutions are rated very highly at GEZE: from installation to maintenance and repairs right up to modernization of existing systems.

The complete support and maintenance of the building technology in one project is thereby our focus. Therefore,

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 8 April 2019, (AETOSWire): The new 133-key Hilton Garden Inn Al Jubail has opened in Saudi Arabia’s commercial centre in Jubail, Dammam. It joins three existing Hilton Garden Inn properties in Saudi Arabia.

Helmed by Dewan Architects + Engineers as the Lead Consultant and designer of the project, the hotel building serves as a contemporary hospitality haven in the heart off Al Jubail, the industrial hub if Saudi Arabia. The hotel’s modern form is a new visual anchor for this emerging city. Set on the Jubail Corniche near the Jubail Commercial Port, the property is conveniently located between King Fahd Airport in Dammam and the Royal Commission of Jubail and its Industrial City.

“The completion of Hilton Garden Inn Al Jubail marks a key moment in this district’s transformation,” says Dewan Architects +Engineers Executive Director, Ammar Al Assam. “The hotel’s contemporary architectural expression reflects the spirit of its surroundings – a growing and constantly evolving city.”

Once a sleepy fishing village, today Al Jubail is the largest industrial city in the world and is also home to the Middle East's largest and world's fourth largest petrochemical company SABIC. The location of Hilton Garden Inn Al Jubail makes it easily accessible to some of the key companies working on projects in the region including Sabic, Sadara, Tasnee, Petro Kemya, Maaden, Marafiq, King Fahd Industrial Port, Dow Chemicals, Exxon, Total, Schlumberger, Saipem-Snamprogetti, Halliburton and Baker Hughes.

“We have already established a strong base in Saudi Arabia which is a market in which the firm has grown well in the last 12 years,” says Mr Al Assam. “Many of our projects in the Kingdom serve as a benchmark for future developments in the region. We are now even more excited about Saudi Vision 2030 which we plan to be a part of as we further cement our foothold in the Kingdom as leading architects and engineers.”

In line with Dewan Architects + Engineers’ “go green” initiatives, Hilton Hotels recently announced it is teaming up with Clean the World, an organisation that collects used soaps from hotels, melts them down, sanitizes them, and creates brand new bars of soap for people in need.

The eight-storey hotel, located on King Faisal Street East, offers 133 spacious guest rooms; a contemporary lobby overlooking the Arabian Gulf; modern meeting rooms (Najla and Dalal); the Panorama (Ladies) lounge; a stunning rooftop swimming pool with views over the Gulf; separate his and her gyms; and high-speed internet access. Guests can enjoy fine dining, themed buffets and weekend brunches at The Garden Grille restaurant, while the Garden Café offers snacks, beverages and outdoor shisha.

Hilton Garden Inn Al Jubail is a significant milestone in the realisation of Dewan’s larger growth plan for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with other major projects in the region including the recently completed 43 storey AKH Office Tower in Dammam, Al Reziza Office Tower in Khibar, Millennium Place Hotel, Riyadh, and Park Inn Hotels and Life Style Malls, in both Dammam and Riyadh.
